Monsoon Moisture

Some monsoon weather from the south came up, clouds, some light rain (very little) and thunderstorms. That's unusual for these parts in mid summer. The humidity is much higher tho and a breeze, so i like it.

Butterfly

Trapped in the greenhouse. I helped it get out but has damaged wing.

Weeds

I sacrificed the lives of many a weeds in order to save a superior weed.

The Road Home

I live at the lower elevations on the west slope of the Northern Sierra Nevada Mountains. If i need to go to town, i can go east up hill 30 mins to Grass Valley/Nevada City, or turn west down hill 30 mins to California's central valley that has a bigger town called Yuba City. I like going to the valley because it's so different, has palm trees and lots of Mexican food with more shopping options.

Here is some pics of the road home from the valley.

1st locked gate but it's auto.

So dry out here

Long dusty road to top of hill
2nd locked gate. This one i have to manually open :(

Up we go, gets steep

Climbing spinning tires

At one point i have to drive backwards to make it up hill (no fwd)

Almost there

Home sweet home. Dry and hot, but it's home, for now.

That road is my only way out if there's a fire. It would be too dangerous. I'll ride out any fire in this clearing.

Air Energy

This place is much different from the overgrown pine forests of the higher elevations where seeing the sky or a view is rare. Down here i can breathe and see the distance and open sky. This is oak forest. It seems the birds rule this place. I've been trying to get good pictures of all the different kinds including Hawks and Eagles but my good camera finally broke so i bought a cheap little one. It doesn't work real good, or at least i can't seem to make it work. My pics won't be like my old ones, and all these bird shots are blurry ( i tried for a month). But at least you can get idea of the Air energy that rules this place. The birds ride the thermals, cause I'm on a hill. I also saw a U2 spy plane one day, and lots of other planes.
